You may know most of the commands... WRKACTJOB, WRKSYSVAL, etc, but Search400.com member Robert Mc Carty took it one step further and created his own short-cuts in QGPL.

Example:

Code Robert's version

     WRKACTJOB WA
     WRKSPLF WS
     WRKJOBQ QBATCH JQ
     WRSYSSTS WSS
     STRPDM SP
     STRSQL SQ
     WRKQRY WQ
     etc...

He used WRKOBJ *ALL *ALL *CMD to recreate his own in QGPL. He understands that he'll lose them when he upgrades, but oh the time saved!

Roberts advice for working on the iSeries: Use GO MAIN to get to your destination. If ever in doubt, use WRKCMD *ALL to view all that is logged on to the IBM iSeries Web site. Also, subscribe to good newsletters, such as the ones Search400.com offers. "Thank goodness that there are people out there who loving teaching for nothing!"
